Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA, is a private non-profit agency that provides a voice for abused children in the juvenile court system. CASA volunteers provide 3-5 hours per week to advocate for the child's best interest and safety. They spend about 3 of these hours visiting the children, taking them to playgrounds, lunch, etc. CASA spends about 35 hours training the volunteers. CASA volunteers are sworn Officers of the Court and provide bi-annual reports to the Juvenile Court.
CCE provided funds during 2009 that allowed CASA to provide bicycles for 25 foster kids in the Monterey Bay Region.
